4 Milliron B Quarter Horses
Welcome to 4 Milliron B Quarter Horses! Please look through our pages of Stallions, Mares, Horses for Sale (Sale Barn) and our Reference Horses. Please read our History below to see how we got to where we are today.

Our program had its foundation the first time I saw the great mare Cow Lady Drift in the late 1960's. I traveled to the Flying S Ranch to see her sire, Orphan Drift, and all Stanley Johnston's Driftwood mares.

After a 15 year career as a college basketball coach, I returned to the Midwest. My first trip once back was to Duke and Gloria Carlson, who owned Cow Lady Drift, and now stood her AQHA Champion son, Snippys Cowboy. I purchased a daughter of Snippys Cowboy named Snippys Becky, that in a brief show career had accumulated 17 combined halter points, 17 heading, 16 heeling and 1 western pleasure point.

At that same time, I acquired the Orphan Drift daughter, Orphans Bar Girl, bred to Snippys Cowboy. Orphans Bar Girl was raised by Stanley Johnston and purchased by Duke and Gloria to someday replace Cow Lady Drift as their performance mare. A severed tendon left her unable to perform. In 1983, she produced a roan stallion by Snippys Cowboy that I named Snippys Driftwood. He had the eye appeal, disposition/mind, to go along with his outstanding athletic ability. He was with me for all of his 21 years. Orphans Bar Girl lived to be 30 and died 2 weeks after Snippys Driftwood.

I kept 2 sons of Snippys Driftwood. Both stallions were out of PC Western lady X Sunfrost. I previously had wintered the dam of Sunfrost in 1986-87. Prissy Cline X Driftwood Ike, was an outstanding mare and I wanted her blood in our breeding program. Just Driftwood, a 2001 buckskin stallion X Snippys Driftwood, proved to be an outstanding sire. We lost Just Driftwood in August of 2011, which was a huge loss. His full brother, Milliron B Jack, a 2003 bay stallion X Snippys Driftwood, bred his first mares in 2011.

Driftin Snippy, a 2007 bay stallion X Just Driftwood and out of Snippys Lady America X Snippys Cowboy and the AQHA Champion mare, Cow Ladys Note, will breed his first mares in 2012. He represents the 3rd generation of Snippys Cowboy in our program. Driftin Snippy (aka Speedy 2) after his sire, is a good-looking young bay stallion with tremendous ability.

With our broodmare band including many daughters of Snippys Driftwood and one daughter of Snippys Cowboy, the legacy of Cow Lady Drift/Snippys Cowboy/Orphans Bar Girl, Snippys Driftwood and Just Driftwood (aka Speedy) goes on.

Thank you for looking at our breeding program,
Ed and Susan Byhre
